Ladakh is a Union Territory of India, located in the northern part of the country at the himalayan mountain ranges. Known as the ‘Land of high Passes’, the region has some of the highest mountain passes, including the highest motorable road in the world (Khardungla earlier and now Umlingla).
The expedition will be organised the month of June 2024. If you miss June, you may like to join the next expeditions in subsequent months.
Ladakh Expedition Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Leh
Day 2: Explore local attractions
Day 3: Khardungla to Nubra Valley
Day 4: Nubra to Turtuk & Thang village
Day 5: Ride to Pangong Tso Lake
Day 6: Back to Leh
Day 7: Fly Out
As you land in Leh airport you will be picked up. Accommodation arranged in Hotel. You need to relax in the hotel for the day and get acclimatised to the high altitude of 10,000 ft plus.
After an early breakfast we will explore Local places and attractions in Leh. A cab will be arranged so that you dont exert physically. It is important to refrain from strenuous physical activity on this day.
You will be picked up in the SUV and will leave Leh after breakfast. We will spend 15 minutes at Khardungla Pass at 17582 ft (5359 m). After a quick lunch en-route we will settle for the day at the hotel in Nubra valley. We should start and reach on time so that we can visit Diskit Budha Stupa and Hunder Sand dunes. May be take a camel ride (Bactrian double humped camels)
We will start early and spend a little time at the Sand dunes if you desire. Then drive to Turtuk for lunch. After lunch we will ride to the last village on India - Pakistan border, Thang village. Evening we will get back to our hotel in Nubra valley for night stay.
Today we will be climbing to 15000 ft for night stay. We have planned the route carefully so that you would have acclimatised well to 10,000 feet in the last four days. We will start early and reach pangong tso lake. Depending on the weather conditions we will either take the shorter or longer route. Reach pangong tso before last light and enjoy the sunset.
Early morning we will have some time to spend on the lake side once again. After breakfast we will drive you back to Leh. Evening you can spend a few hours exploring Leh Market on your own as we expect to reach on time.
You will be dropped back to Leh airport as per your individual flight timings. You will be flying out from ladakh to your city with abundance of experiences, memories and photographs.
